Class on Social and Emotional Learning for Young Children

Jin-A realizes the importance of being a strong supportive community for families, amidst all the chaotic demands of modern society.

We truly believe it takes a village to raise a child. Our program supports families with a monthly education class on early childhood development and learning.  Conveniently, during these parent sessions, child care is provided as well as refreshments!

Our first class was on Wednesday night, September 28. We invited a specialized trainer from 4CS of Passaic County, Maria Guadalupe, to share about her expertise on social and emotional learning for young children. Her talk brought awareness to the Nine Temperament Traits of Infants and Toddlers.  Her talk also enlightened us on children's developmental processes, from learning how to share, ability to empathize, how to deal with deferred gratification, and tips on how to divert and direct energies.

Tantrums were the hot topic of the night.  Many parents jumped right in and shared their own experiences, and what worked for their children.  The open and engaging session was not only informative but allowed the parents to get acquainted with one another.

This short but sweet presentation ran from 5pm-6pm.  Thank you all for participating and contributing to the great turn out.  Don't miss out on the next class on October 19th at 5:30pm.  See you there!

Feedback from attended Parents:

"It was nice to feel that I am not the only one.

"I definitely used some points to practice at home!"
