Spring Festival Morning Session

Spring Festival Morning Session

Parents, grandparents, and younger siblings joined their child’s class on the playground for a wonderful Spring Festival on the morning of May 11 , 2022.

Children from Ms. Zenaida, Ms. Cathy, Ms. Alba and Ms. Marjorie’s classes enjoyed moving to various craft and game stations. Parents did great supporting their child with the crafts and keeping them with their group.

An impromptu dancing station helped children enjoy the time between stations.

The colorful tents and beautiful spring and recycling theme artwork of the children displayed around the perimeter created a festive feeling.

Parking was manageable thanks to the VFW taking our overflow.

Thanks to Little Pizza Heaven, parents were able to pre-order delicious pizza’s to enjoy with their child and friends.

Spring Festival Afternoon Session

Spring Festival Afternoon Session

Children from Ms. Hiromi, Ms. Jacquie, and Ms. Cassandra’s older classes were joined by their families on the playground for a wonderful Spring Festival on the afternoon of May 11 , 2022.

As older children, they managed crafts and game stations with a lot more independence than the younger groups, but parents still joined in making crafts and playing games with their child. This age enjoyed doing more detailed work on their crafts and played games that were a little more challenging than the morning session. The beanbag toss was still the favored activity, though.

The colorful tents and beautiful spring and recycling theme related artwork of the children displayed around the perimeter created a festive feeling.

Parking was again manageable thanks to the VFW taking our overflow.

Moe from Little Pizza Heaven stayed out in the sun for 4 hours to cook delicious pizzas pre-ordered by parents, which many enjoyed during the festivities.

Overall the Spring Festival was a success!

UN Celebration

Bravo Parents! You did it again! The posters about your child’s favorite things ROCKED! The way you showed their connection to their cultural heritage through food, music, dancing and extended family was amazing. They felt so special being in the lime light, sharing their posters. They also had fun dressing up and eating special treats and traditional food from around the world. Thanks for all your contributions!

Congratulations 2020 Graduates!

Dear Graduates,

Thank you for coming to Jin-A. You have grown so much and it seems like you just started. Now you are graduating from Pre-K or Kindergarten! This is a big step in your life. It is my wish that you have a wonderful experience next year in your new school, find new friends, and adjust well to the new environment.

It was such a joy visiting you in your classrooms, seeing your smiles, and hearing your laughter. May you grow in God’s love like a wonderful tree, stabilize your roots in your family, strengthen your trunk through knowledge, and develop wonderful branches that reach out in love to the world.

This was a funny year where we had to finish the program at home because of COVID-19. I hope you stayed healthy and safe, enjoyed being home with your family, and stayed connected to your teachers and classmates through Zoom calls.

Many happy graduations and happy birthdays to come. Come visit sometimes! May God bless and guide you,

Christine Brunkhorst

Black History Month

All the classrooms read books about and did projects on historical figures from the African American community. As a school we focused on the art of Alma Woodsey Thomas. Some classrooms did a related group project. Others did individual projects. Classrooms also listened to Jazz and talked about famous Jazz musicians like Louis Armstrong. Astronaut Mae C. Jemison was highlighted in the Toddler Room.

Diwali Inspired Sand Art

Diwali Inspired Sand Art

One of our parents shared with our students about Diwali. She explained that Diwali is a celebration of light and peace. People in India make decorations with sand called Rangoli. They decorate their doorways to greet guests.

One of our teachers adapted the idea for fall and created a stencil with thick yarn. Children from all the classrooms helped to fill the stencil with colored sand.
