At Jin-A Child Care Center, Music with Ms. Nora isn't your average music class; it's an engaging and enriching experience that fosters creativity, confidence, and a love for learning. This week, we've been captivated by the students' journey from the energetic "Hello" song to the thoughtful "Farewell" song.
Under Ms. Nora's guidance, children are encouraged to explore music in diverse ways. They've had the opportunity to experiment with a variety of instruments, including drums, egg shakers, xylophones, and ukuleles. This hands-on approach allows them to discover different sounds and rhythms, learning about fast and slow tempos, high and low notes, and soft and loud sounds.
What's truly special is how each child gets a chance to shine. They have the opportunity to lead their peers in following their creative performances. This week was with drums and drumsticks. Ms. Nora's encouragement of their unique contributions and kind words and attentiveness inspired the rest of the children to listen and learn. This is just one example of how these budding maestros are learning a great many more practical skills through music.
A Little More About Ms. Nora
Nora Waldmann, a mother of two boys, grew up in Austria, a country where music and playing an instrument were deeply embedded in the culture. Her parents and siblings are also gifted musically, and have performed at Jin-A Child Care Center. Her personal connection to music and her passion for nurturing young talent truly shines through in her work.
We're so grateful for the vibrant and musical environment Ms. Nora creates for our children. It's a place where they can explore, create, and grow, with every note a step forward on their musical journey.
Exploring the Xylophone. "Ms. Nora invites them to notice, “The notes go up and down like steps.”
Exploring the Ukulele and singing together.
